Maria "la guajira" Voisin
- Voted Asheville's #1 Dance Instructor by the Mountain Xpress,   
Maria has been dancing Salsa for over 11 years. Her background is in Ballet and Classical
music, but her summers were spent as a youth in the Dominican Republic. The Caribbean
rhythms would eventually draw her back to Salsa.   In autumn of 2002 she founded Salseros
828 Dance Company. She hopes to spread the joy of Salsa throughout Western Carolina and
to make this dance accessible and enduring for all who enjoy it

Ash Dalnoot has always been very passionate about sharing his love for the latin dances,
merengue, salsa, mambo, bachata, etc. He has been teaching for over 10 years and has
taught workshops all over the world – Atlanta, GA, Amsterdam, Netherlands, and Cape Town,
South Africa just to name a few. Born and raised in Curacao, a Caribbean island off the coast
of Venezuela made up of more than 45 different ethnicities, he was exposed from a very young
age to all types of music and dance. He now calls Charlotte, NC his home and hopes to create
an environment for as many Charlotteans as possible to have fun and dance! A CPA by day,
Ash loves to express himself through dance by night.


Jimmy Rumba Originally from Los Angeles, first made a name for himself in the salsa
community on the west coast as a famed competitor, performer, instructor, choreographer, and
event producer. Winner of the 2002 & 2003 Mayan World Salsa Championship and also
former member of the world know LOS RUMBEROS DANCE COMPANY. Since then, he has
appeared on numerous television shows, public performances and competitions. He brought
his experience and talent with him to the east coast in 2004 when he moved to Atlanta. In no
time, Jimmy turned up the heat and the level of dancing with new and innovative classes and
much talked about events. Later, he moved to Atlanta where he has become one of the most
sought after LA Salsa instructors in the southeastern region. His technique, styling and
modern choreography are second to none.


Edgar "Tun Tun" Mendez is considered one of the "Pioneers of LA Style Salsa."  After
spending 5 years with Los Rumberos Dance Company in LA, he moved to Memphis forming
Salsa Memphis, a powerhouse in the Salsa scene.  Known for his versatility, creativity, and
passion, Edgar is one of the most respected instructors in the country.  




Shanda Connor  began her dance career at the age of 12.  Was a member of the U.S.C.
performing group, and dancing for a hip hop artist in videos and concerts. Then moved on to
dance and teach Swing and Ballroom. From there was discovered by the World famous "Salsa
Brava Dance Company", where she traveled  the world performing and teaching  in videos, t.
v., film, and numerous congresses. Went to Italy to do a tour for a year, and stayed for the last
6 years. Has recently moved to Atlanta, G.A. Shanda promotes her passion of dance, as a
means to enhance awareness of the tremendous beauty and benefits of Salsa Dance, and the
many opportunities to learn and perform on a world-wide scale.



Eduardo and A&E Dancers Classically trained in Ballroom and Latin dances.   
Competitive Pro-Am through world promotions and Triple crown dance challenge.  Dancing
salsa since 2001, he has owned and operated A and E dance studio for over 5 years teaching  
hundreds of students.  A and E dance studio and staff single-handedly began the salsa scene
in Augusta Georgia.  Students that travel all over the southeast to A and E Dance Studio for
top notch precision training. We strive in a smooth and energetic style of salsa focusing on the
pure enjoyment and confidence each student can achieve through the knowledge of dance.


Lydia Laurrain began dancing at the age of four.  She studied ballet, tap and jazz in Athens,
Georgia where she joined the Athens Ballet Theatre Company from the age of fourteen to
seventeen.  She received a dance education minor from the University of Georgia in 2003 with
a concentration in modern dance.  In 2004 she began casino salsa classes with Julian Mejia
and began performing and instructing casino lessons in 2005.  In 2006 she moved to Atlanta
and began training On 1 and continued teaching and training casino with SalsAtlanta.  



Miguel Balderas Born in Mexico City and moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2001. He started
dancing cumbia and soon after found a passion for salsa and bachata.  Miguel started with
Salsambo in 2006 and was a part of the Salsambo team. After he left Salsambo he started
teaching beginner’s salsa and bachata. Miguel now has his own performance group that
performs a mixture of salsa, bachata, and merengue.



Susan Zaglin is founder and director of Salsa Greenville SC.  Dancing since the age of 7,
she studied tap, jazz, modern, ballet, ballroom, and middle eastern dance.  In college, she
studied under Sandra Neil (Merce Cunningham), Pilobolus, and Robert Parson's Company.  
After graduating with a minor in dance, she joined Jolie Couleur in Movement.  In March 2004
she discovered Salsa and immediately becoming addicted to the dance and to the people.
